My first Mobile game as a Game designer which got launched in the market and is being used by several users.

Kiddopia is an already existing app of Paper Boat Apps. I designed the Math Whiz game for them from scratch. It teaches Math to Pre School and Kindergarten kids. The preschool version is out but the kindergarten version is still in the making.

My Input (process):

Designing the categories and subcategories, along with the questions an Report, Elements and also the overall Look of the game.

Game Elements

I decided the elements inside the game, pertaining to the Beach, Island and underwater theme. The Art was done by the artist

Game algorithms

Game balancing with the stars and coins and the algorithms behind them.

When does the level up - How many coins does the user get for each correct answer - How will the level be divided..

Designing the Game Progress Bar

I made few concepts for the progress bar in the game, where 3 stars for the level completion can be created which element can be used as a symbol for different categories. Few of the options I came up were fish, lighthouse, snail, jellyfish etc.

WHY JELLYFISH: Their up movement is appealing & their tentacles can act as a constant moving element making it fun for the kids to watch

Designing the Category element

I ideated which element can be used as a symbol for different categories. Few of the options I came up were sandcastles, islands, beach huts, swim rings etc.

The finalised element was Sandcastle. It can be broken down into small elements which can be mixed and matched and formed into various different looking creations. So a total of 8 sandcastles were made for the game.

Report

Math Whiz is a game where the kid's progress is mapped and showcased in a report for the parents to keep track of their kid's education. I set all the essential features that are required to track the progress in an efficient way into 4 categories.

Log In & Register process map

Getting the user registered in the game was an important feature for the Report. I designed the entire flow of how this feature will work, to make it easy for the programmers to execute it. It had all steps, which a user might go through like forgetting password, registering through gmail, email confirmation etc.
